The situation
Junk removal is priced by volume, and volume is impossible to describe over the phone. The customer says a couch and some boxes. The crew arrives to a garage. Somebody is disappointed and one of them is holding a truck they cannot fill profitably.
This is a two-person operation. Every call taken is a call taken while lifting something heavy, and the calls arrive at night, which is exactly when a two-person crew is done for the day.
What we built
A quoting flow that runs on photos instead of phone calls.
- A custom booking tool where the customer sends photos of the actual pile with their inquiry, so the quote is priced off the real thing
- No calls required and no deposit, both stated in the hero, because those are the two frictions this category is known for
- Text a Photo as the primary action in the header, matching how this customer already communicates
- An after-hours banner that sets a real expectation rather than pretending someone is awake: send a photo now, get a text back by 8am
- Before and after imagery, which for junk removal is the entire sales argument
- The service area named in the copy, Salinas, Monterey, Carmel and the surrounding areas, with local pages so those towns can find the business in search
- Pricing given its own page, since not knowing the price is why people call three companies
- Family-owned said plainly, because a husband and wife team is competing against franchises and that is the advantage
- English and Spanish
What it does now
A customer photographs the pile at nine at night and gets a real number in the morning. The crew quotes from the truck instead of losing an evening to the phone.
