Rank for the people you plan for, in words compliance signs off on.
Prospects search for an advisor the way they describe their life: retiring teacher, small business owner, recently widowed. The advisor with a clear page for that person gets the meeting. The page just has to survive your compliance review.

The real problem
Why don’t financial advisors show up on Google?
Generic advisor copy is safe for compliance and gives Google nothing to rank.
Many advisor websites open with some version of "comprehensive wealth management tailored to your unique goals". It is safe for compliance and it is invisible to search, because nobody types it. People search for their situation, not for a category of service.
Google also holds money pages to a higher bar. Its search quality guidelines treat topics that affect a person’s financial security as "Your Money or Your Life", where who wrote the page and why they can be trusted matter more. A real advisor with real credentials is exactly what that standard rewards, if the site shows it.
And reviews can be on the table. Since the SEC Marketing Rule took effect, SEC-registered advisers can use testimonials and third-party ratings when the rule’s conditions are met. State-registered advisers follow their state’s rules, and broker-dealer reps follow FINRA’s.
Generic versus specific
The same practice, written two ways
A generic advisor site
- "Comprehensive solutions tailored to your goals"
- A team page and a contact form
- No Google profile, or one nobody updates
- Nothing a prospect would actually search for
A site built around who you serve
- A page for each kind of client you plan for
- Credentials and the person behind the advice, up front
- A complete Google profile with compliant reviews
- Calculators and plain answers that earn the first meeting
- SEC Marketing Rule compliance date
- Nov 4, 2022
- per client situation you serve
- 1 page
- pension gap check we built for a teacher retirement service
- 2 min
What does SEO for financial advisors include?
Every page drafted so your compliance team can approve it, not rewrite it.
01
Google Business Profile
The right category, your services, hours and photos, so you show in the map pack for "financial advisor near me" in your city.
02
Client situation pages
Retiring teachers, business owners, pre-retirees, families planning for a parent. One page per kind of client you serve, written in their words.
03
Trust signals Google can read
Credentials, registration details and the person behind the advice on every page that gives it. This is what Google’s standard for money topics looks for.
04
Reviews under the Marketing Rule
If you are an SEC-registered adviser, a review program with the disclosures the Marketing Rule requires. State-registered advisers and broker-dealer reps follow different rules, and we work to whichever applies.
05
Tools that start the conversation
A calculator that answers one real question earns the meeting. We built a pension gap calculator that agents open in the room with a teacher.
06
Measurement in meetings
Calls and booked consultations, not traffic charts. If a page is not producing meetings, we change it.
Financial sites we have built
A retirement planning service for teachers, the pension calculator its agents use in meetings, and a bilingual tax planning firm.
Teacher's Retirement Solutions A financial service with three audiences on one site: the teachers it advises, the agents it recruits, and the vendors it works with.
Teacher's Retirement Solutions An installable calculator that shows a teacher how their CalSTRS pension measures against what they actually want to retire on. Agents open it in the room.
ProfitWise A tax planning firm whose site draws the line between filing and planning, qualifies visitors by the size of their tax bill, and runs entirely in English and Spanish. Specific to financial advice
Rules an advisor’s website is built around
The compliance side of advisor SEO, from the regulators themselves.

SEC-registered advisers can use testimonials and ratings
The SEC Marketing Rule, which applies to advisers registered with the SEC, with a compliance date of November 4, 2022, permits testimonials, endorsements and third-party ratings in advertising when the disclosure and oversight conditions are met.

Do not curate your reviews
The SEC says an adviser who deletes or suppresses negative comments, or puts the positive ones first, has made those comments its own advertising. Show reviews as they come.

Broker-dealer reps need principal approval
Under FINRA Rule 2210, a qualified registered principal approves each retail communication before it is used or filed. We schedule drafts around that review.

Money pages get a higher bar
Google’s rater guidelines name topics that affect a person’s financial security as "Your Money or Your Life", with investing as an example. Credentials and a real person behind the advice are what that standard looks for.

How does financial advisor SEO work with us?
Fixed scope, clear order, and a review step built in for compliance.
- 1
Scan what you have
Your Google profile, how you rank in your city and for your client types, and your site. You keep the findings either way.
- 2
Fix the profile first
It is often incomplete or missing, and it is the fastest win.
- 3
Draft the situation pages
Starting with the clients you most want more of. Drafts go to your compliance team before anything is published.
- 4
Set up compliant reviews
If your firm allows it, a review ask with the disclosures in place. If it does not, we lean harder on content and the profile.
- 5
Measure in meetings
Calls and booked consultations. Rankings are shown because they are diagnostic, not because they are the goal.

Making your practice the one Google shows when someone nearby searches for an advisor or describes their situation. For an independent practice it is mostly your Google Business Profile, pages for the clients you serve, and showing clearly who you are and why you can be trusted.
Advisers registered with the SEC can, under the SEC Marketing Rule, which allows testimonials, endorsements and third-party ratings when its conditions are met. State-registered advisers follow their state’s rules, and broker-dealer reps follow FINRA Rule 2210. Your compliance team decides; we build to what they approve.
Plan on it. We draft every page with that in mind: no performance promises, no cherry-picked results, credentials stated plainly. It shortens the review instead of starting a rewrite.
Profile improvements can show in the map pack within a few weeks. Situation pages usually take three to six months to rank, longer if compliance review is slow. Anyone promising faster is describing ads.
