SEO for pest control

Be the company they find when they find the ants.

Pest searches are urgent, local, and made on a phone, usually within minutes of the discovery. Whoever owns the map pack and the "[pest] control near me" results gets the call. Everyone else gets nothing.

How it works

Free scan of your Google listing. Built by the team behind a real pest control operator’s site.

The real problem

The national brands own their names. They do not own your city.

Orkin and Terminix will always win searches for Orkin and Terminix. Their ad budgets are national and that fight is not winnable, so stop having it. What they are genuinely bad at is being local: a page about rodent control in your specific city, written by someone who knows which neighborhoods back onto the fields.

Below the national brands sit the lead resellers. They rank a generic page, capture the call, and sell it, often to you and two competitors at once, at a price per lead that only makes sense for them.

The opening is the same one I use for a real pest control company in this county: own the map pack with the profile and reviews, and own the pest-plus-city searches with pages that actually say something. Someone searching "termite inspection" at 7am is not browsing. They are hiring today.

What pest control SEO actually involves

The same playbook running for a real operator, not a theory.

01

Google Business Profile

Categories, services and service area set up so you show in the map pack for the pests you treat, with the reviews that make the call an easy choice.

02

Review engine

An ask after every finished job, at the moment relief is highest. Reviews decide map pack position and they decide the call after it.

03

A page per pest

Ants, rodents, termites, wasps, bed bugs. Each one is its own search with its own urgency, and a generic "services" page ranks for none of them.

04

Service-area pages

Real pages for the towns you cover, with real local detail. Not ten copies of one page with the city swapped, which Google has filtered for years.

05

Speed and mobile

These searches happen standing in the kitchen looking at the problem. A slow site loses the call before it loads.

06

Call tracking

You see which pages and searches produced calls, so the work is judged on booked jobs, not on pest control marketing reports.

How we run it

Fixed scope, clear order, measured on the phone ringing.

  1. 1

    Scan what you have

Your profile, your rankings per pest and per town, your reviews against nearby competitors, your site speed. Yours to keep either way.

  2. 2

    Fix the profile first

The map pack is the fastest win in this trade because the searches are so local and so urgent. It gets fixed before the website.

  3. 3

    Build the pest pages

One per pest, written with real treatment detail. This is what lets you rank for the job instead of your company name.

  4. 4

    Turn on the review loop

Relief is a powerful motivator. A finished-job ask converts better in this trade than almost any other.

  5. 5

    Measure in booked jobs

Calls and scheduled treatments, not impressions. If a page is not producing, we change it.

Frequently asked

How is this different from buying pest control leads?

Bought leads are rented and shared: the same homeowner often goes to two or three companies, and the moment you stop paying, the calls stop. Rankings are owned. Most operators keep buying leads while the SEO builds, then cut back as the map pack takes over.

Do I really need a separate page for every pest?

For every pest you actually want jobs for, yes. "Termite inspection" and "wasp nest removal" are different searches from different customers with different urgency. One combined services page ranks for neither.

How long before pest control SEO brings in calls?

Profile and map pack work can move in two to four weeks. New pest pages typically take three to six months to rank and then keep producing. The urgent nature of these searches means position changes show up in call volume fast.

Have you actually done this for a pest control company?

Yes. I build and run the web presence for a working pest control operator in Monterey County, and the build is public in the case studies on this site. This page is the same playbook, offered to companies outside my service area too.

What matters most for the map pack?

Proximity, which you cannot change, then profile categories, service listings and reviews, which you can. Review recency matters: a profile that stopped collecting reviews a year ago reads as closed.

Do you build pest control websites too?

Yes. If the site is the bottleneck, slow, dated, or missing the pests you treat, we rebuild it first, because SEO cannot rescue a site that loses the visitor on arrival.
