Roberto When it needs a person I run Digital Vibes on my own, on top of a full-time job. I build websites for businesses in Salinas and Monterey County, a lot of them family businesses that work in both Spanish and English.
For a long time I sent every client their website updates by hand. One message at a time, every time I changed something on their site. That worked with a few clients. As I built more sites, it stopped working. I was spending hours on updates, messages were piling up, and questions that came in at 10 at night waited until the next day. I couldn't keep up.
Then I became a dad. Best blessing of my life. It also meant I had to get honest about my time. I needed to be more efficient, not just busier.
So at night, after my wife and son went to sleep, I sat down and started planning. Somewhere in those late nights the idea clicked, and Echo was born.
I built Echo from the ground up for Digital Vibes. It answers questions when I can't, in whichever language you write. It books calls on my real calendar. It tells my clients when their website changes, sends them where they rank on Google, and shows them how their site is doing, without me typing each message. And when something needs a person, it tells me, and that person is me.
Echo was never about AI hype, and it isn't a plug-and-play bot. Over the last 3 years, from when I first tried ChatGPT to the different AI agents out there, I've used everything from basic assistants to premium and enterprise-grade tools. Some were impressive. Many were frustrating: canned answers, wrong information, no way to reach a real person. I took all of it, the good and the bad, into how I built Echo. It starts from Claude, Anthropic's AI, and everything on top of that is mine: what it knows about Digital Vibes, how it talks, what it's allowed to do, and when it hands things to me. I shaped it through a lot of trial and error and careful testing, one conversation at a time, until it behaved the way I'd want an assistant to treat my own family.
The goal was never to step away from my clients. It was to keep giving them the same care, and to have more time for my family.
Echo is how I found that balance.
